Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. The ideal candidate must have a strong accounting background and at least 4 years of relevant experience in a pharmaceutical import/export company. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing accounting operations, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, preparing financial reports, and supporting the organization's financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain and oversee the company's accounting records and financial transactions.

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Manage general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.

Ensure accurate recording of import and export transactions.

Prepare and file tax declarations in compliance with Ethiopian tax laws.

Monitor cash flow and prepare financial reports for management.

Coordinate month-end and year-end closing activities.

Support internal and external audits.

Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

Supervise and provide guidance to junior accounting staff.

Perform other duties assigned by the Finance Manager.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Accounting & Finance, or a related field.

Minimum of 4 years and more of relevant experience in a pharmaceutical import/export company.

Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and accounting standards.

Experience in import costing, inventory accounting, and foreign currency transactions is highly desirable.

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

High level of integrity and attention to detail.
